Pre-Purchase Boat Inspection

Thinking of buying a boat for the Michigan waters?

During our pre-purchase inspection we will evaluate the boat’s systems and structure in and out of the water. We will look for problems that could require expensive repairs, or that make the boat unseaworthy. We will spend time below-decks inspecting the engine, seacocks, fuel lines, electrical wiring, and plumbing systems, as well as the hull’s interior for structural integrity and defects. Above decks we will examine the hull, deck fittings, helm station, navigation lights, stanchions and lifelines. Using nondestructive testing we will check for signs of blistering, gelcoat cracking, stress cracks and dry rot.
